Nigel Spence
Nigel Spence was born on March 1st, 1956 in London, the son of a publisher. He was educated for ten years in a boarding school run by Benedictine Monks – Ampleforth College, Yorkshire. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, he embarked upon a career in the City of London. He worked for some of the world’s largest investment companies, as a fund manager and investment analyst. His investment-seeking journeys took him to the developing economies which were emerging from behind the former Iron Curtain. He sought out investments amongst the ruins of the Soviet Union and within the conflict-ridden Middle East. He witnessed the civil strife which flared up during the collapse of the Soviet Union. His first book, “Seven Days in Mozandah”, published in 2006, is set in Central Asia. He lives in Cambridgeshire with his wife and four children.
